The goal was to make a shooter with a lot of special effects and ambient sound effects/music. Ambiance allows the player to customize your ship using 20 different orbs that are found throughout the game. By putting orbs on the ship the player can get plenty of unique effects, and can customize it to their liking, however there are only 5 slots for upgrades. Along with a campaign there is an endless mode where you can test your orb combinations against endless waves of enemies.
